Feel free to pick our brains for more info to find the perfect Chicago neighborhood experience for your vacation in our great city.
Gold Coast: The Hancock Building offers perhaps the city's greatest view, and the Magnicient Mile is, well, magnificent, and is now home to the new Chicago Sports Museum. Check out the old Water Tower, the only structure that survied the Chicago Fire of 1871, or shop at some of the most exclusive stores in the city just a few steps from Lake Michigan.
When night falls, head to Rush Street and have some fun!
Wicker Park/ Bucktown: Long the home of Chicago's creative community, these neighborhoods remain edgy, but now are also home to great restaurants from some of the city's best chefs and our best craft cocktail bars. You'll also be steps from iconic music venues like the Double Door, bookstores like Myopic Books, and eclectic boutiques. This is also the neighborhood where the classic film High Fidelity was based in. Read more and see our list of favorite spots in Wicker Park/ Bucktown>>
Old Town: Second City, Alinea (one of 10 3-Michelin star restaurants in the country), and upscale boutiques. This neighborhood puts you right in the heart of the city's thriving comedy, dining, and performing arts scene. The Chicago History Museum is often overshadowed in a city full of some of the best museums in the world, but it's not to be overlooked.
Downtown: In town for work? Stay downtown and have easy access to everything you need, plus you can walk to The Art Institute of Chicago, Sears Tower, Millenium Park, The Bean, Grant Park and the Chicago Architectural Foundation, among many others. Do the Chicago Architectural Foundation's river cruise, by the way. Don't ask questions, just do it.
Lincoln Park: One of Chicago's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. Visit over the holidays and check out the beautiful Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo. It's free, as the zoo is all year.
Wrigleyville: The name says it all. Wrigleyville puts you in the shadow of one of the country's most iconic and historic sports venues, in the center of a slew of great bars and local watering holes like the Cubby Bear and Goose Island, and a short walk to the beautiful Lakefront Trail, where you can bike or jog along the majestic Lake Michigan shoreline.
